FREE DRUGS & KILLER WHALES

written by Rosaleen Cox

Premiered at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin in February 2025

A biting dark comedy set outside a men's bathroom in a Kildare night club.

Unabashed best friends Riley and Eireann debrief about Riley’s eccentric half sister Daisy, whose obsession with fish and lack of social skills is derailing their primary goal of the night: Scoring free drugs off lads who think they’ve got a chance of a shift.

At its core, this play explores the power of sisterhood and how it rises to the surface in moments of need, regardless of personal differences or tensions. With unflinching honesty, it delves into the complexities of female friendships and family bonds. The dialogue is fast, sharp and witty, evoking a blend of Martin McDonagh, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Annie Baker.
